Order Management:
Job Summary:
The Phone and Online Order Specialist is responsible for efficiently handling incoming phone orders and managing orders placed through third-party platforms such as Grub hub, Door Dash, and Uber Eats. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to ensure a seamless ordering experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming phone calls and take customer orders accurately.
- Confirm and input orders into the restaurant’s POS system.
- Monitor and manage orders from third-party platforms (Grubhub, DoorDash, Uber Eats).
- Ensure all orders are correctly prepared and ready for delivery or pickup in a timely manner.
Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving any issues related to their orders.
- Offer menu suggestions and upsell additional items when appropriate.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude in all interactions with customers and delivery partners.
Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and packaging of orders.
- Communicate any special instructions or dietary requirements to the kitchen team.
- Liaise with delivery drivers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders.
- Quality Control:
- Verify the accuracy of orders before they are dispatched.
- Ensure all food items are packaged properly to maintain quality during transit.
- Address and rectify any discrepancies or issues with orders promptly.
- Technology Utilization:
- Proficiently use the restaurant’s POS system and third-party order platforms.
- Stay updated on any changes or updates to the third-party platforms.
- Troubleshoot any technical issues related to online ordering systems.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain records of phone and online orders for reporting and analysis.
- Assist in tracking inventory related to delivery orders.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in the food service industry. Familiarity with online ordering platforms is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in using POS systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations calmly.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
