As Preschool Teacher, you will help socialize and educate young children through play and purposeful activities. We will rely on you to instill children with good values, as well as encourage them to be creative and enthusiastic about learning. As a Preschool Teacher, you should be compassionate and loving, understanding children’s needs beyond their educational development. You must also be a good communicator, as you will work closely with an assistant teacher throughout the year. Ultimately, you should be able to address academic and behavioral problems in a positive way that contributes to a positive learning environment for young children.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a positive role model, in and out of the classroom, for children and parents.
- Implement the coordination and smooth running of the classroom and help to develop activities that support the curriculum.
- Be a positive role model by supporting and encouraging appropriate behavior, such as cooperation and conflict resolution through age-appropriate activities.
- Provide guidance to all children with basic life skills such as self-help skills, self-esteem, and personal hygiene.
- Provide the preschoolers language skills through songs, stories, finger plays, etc.
- Encourage preschoolers love of learning new things by assisting in providing a variety of interesting learning experiences.
- Assist the assistant teacher in diapering and potty training as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must provide transcripts showing a minimum 12 ECE core units as required by state licensing.
- Be passionate about working with young children and their families.
- Enjoy being part of a dedicated teaching team whose focus is on ensuring the success of everyone in the St. Bart's community.
- All staff must have proof of a recent negative TB test, updated physical, proof of the MMR and DTap vaccines, and pass a LiveScan background check.
- Be able to lift 30 pounds
- Be able to bend, kneel, and sit on the floor

Pay: $20.00 per hour
