Who we are:
Engine Power Components is an IATF 16949 certified, global leader in camshaft design and production. We serve a worldwide customer base and supply many diverse market segments. If it has an engine, we will probably supply a camshaft for that application. We service heavy duty on and off-road markets, marine and recreational vehicles, light duty trucks, passenger cars, motorcycles, auxiliary power units, racing and high-performance vehicles, and large high horsepower applications for large ships, locomotives, mining equipment and power generation. Excellent customer relationships with some of the best known, globally recognized engine manufacturers, together with talented and dedicated staff, have allowed Engine Power Components to grow from a small operation founded in 1979, to one of the leading camshaft suppliers in the world today.
As Controls Engineer, you will:

Support the plant in all aspects of the electrical maintenance troubleshooting using PLC and robot programming skills and a thorough understanding of sequence of operations.

Develop all aspects of control systems, equipment, and machinery.

Interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements.

Research supplier products for assembly components.

Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.

Power up electrical systems and configure hardware per application specifications.

Review, repair, and redesign programs.

Write user manuals to communicate functionality of company-developed programs.
-
Write work instructions to communicate shop floor needs of interfaces.

Responsible for keeping PLC documentation up to date and archiving the PLC programs.

Create, maintain, and approve all schematics for new and existing equipment.

Develop the total productive maintenance plan for the electrical section of new equipment for the production plant.

Partner with cross-functional teams to launch new products, improve manufacturing processes of existing products.

Meet assigned performance and financial objectives. Ensure the quality of all products meet customer specifications.

Analyze, design, and implement Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Solutions.

Author and review design controls and control activities.

Assist sales team with engineering support, including preparing estimates, quotes, and schedules.

Promptly respond to any equipment downtime issues.

Travel to customer or vendor locations.

Comply with all EPC policy, procedure, and practices.
Skills/Experience for an ideal Controls Engineer candidate include:
-
Successful and progressive professional experience in a variety of Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, computer science or equivalent engineering disciplines.

Advanced ability software skills, including Microsoft Office products, ERP systems, PLC, HMI Fanuc, RSLOGIX software and CAD/CAM systems.

Experience with controls design

Fluent in controls systems writing protocols, and databases.

Comfortable with algorithm design and programmable logic practices.

Effective communication skills and the ability to influence others with assertiveness and grace, such that our team would enjoy working with you.

Successful track record of working with commitment, integrity, trust, diplomacy, and confidentiality.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.

Evidence of using sound judgment, critical thinking, listening, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, and solving complex problems.

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field of study.

Evidence of customer focus and business acumen.
