TOP Engineers Plus is seeking a Senior CADD Designer

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- The CADD Designer will work with senior design engineers to develop drawings referencing sketches, notes, and other input from designers and engineers to prepare and finalize drawings utilizing AutoCAD or similar tools in a fast-paced environment that demands accuracy and proficiency.
- Be familiar with the practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters in at least one or more of the following areas: Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Construction, Manufacturing, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping or PLS CADD.
- Maintain a working knowledge of internal and client CAD standards and the drawing database.
- Revise or prepare drawings with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Position will primarily work in a Home office or (office) setting. (must be able to sustain an efficient home office environment).
- May require travel between a Manager’s office or the team leads office.
- May require some field work & assist in the gathering of survey information and the development of plans and maps from field notes.
- Perform tasks such as digitizing, copying and scanning of drawings, prints and maps.
- Generate drawing transmittals as required.
- Maintain accurate drawing records by entering and maintaining drawing database information.
- Self-check all work and check the work of others as required.
- Be a continuous learner, always willing to grow their skillset to better enable the business to be responsive to changing client expectations. Willing to be mentored by seasoned experts on the team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in English is required. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing is required.
- Must possess a current Driver’s License.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the USA.
- Highly proficient in AutoCAD (experience with Civil 3D a plus).
- Ability to produce accurate work with attention to detail on time and within budget.
- Team oriented and willing to put in the time and effort necessary to see a project through to successful completion. May periodically require overtime, including weekends.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledgeable with standard drafting practices & procedures.
- Self-starter who can work with little or no supervision, strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
Education And Experience:
- Associate degree or certification in Computer-Aided Design, Drafting, or a related field.
- Proven 5+ years experience as a CAD Designer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, SolidWorks, Revit).
- Experience in architectural, mechanical, or electrical drafting is advantageous.
- Experience in utilizing point cloud data in AutoCAD is a plus.
Typical Projects:
- Outside Plant Design (OSP). Candidate will be tasked with interpreting and implementing communication engineering design elements regarding placement of Fiber Optic Cable in an Electric Utility Distribution or Transmission System. Facilities may be overhead or underground.
- Create Plan and Profile drawings utilizing data from GPS devices or LIDAR devices.
- Create the base documents for the field survey of Electric Distribution Poles and development of Map books and detailed Engineering Design Package
- FTTH (Fiber to the Home) Design. Candidate will be tasked with design responsibilities related to FTTH layout and design.
