Overview:
The Event Set-Up and Support Tech (Attendant) is responsible for the setup, servicing, and breakdown of all meetings and events held in designated event spaces at Touro University Nevada. The Event Set-Up and Support Tech (Attendant) maintains the organization, proper use, moving, and storage of event equipment in accordance with CCFD Fire Codes and Southern Nevada Health District standards.
Responsibilities:
- Set up event space in accordance with departmental standards to include the following:

Setting/resetting room in a timely manner according to BEO (Banquet Event Order), Specification Sheet and/or management instruction.

Properly collecting, moving and/or removing tables, chairs, podiums, and other items needed in the room (up to 70 lbs).q

Move and place heavy props (up to 70 lbs) for functions (i.e., hedge panels, photo booth, bars, etc.).q
-
Setting/resetting table pads, tablecloths and skirting correctly.

Setting tabletop items (pens, pads, mints, glassware, water pitchers, etc.).

Breakdown function areas as scheduled in accordance with departmental procedures, storing all reusable goods and returning equipment to specified storage areas.

Check event storage areas routinely to maintain organization, document/report wear and tear issues and inventory levels of event equipment and furniture (i.e., bars, carts, portable units, tables, chairs, stanchions etc.).
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.

Perform general housekeeping of event spaces (trash removal, vacuuming, wiping down surfaces and furnishings).

Report any necessary repairs and maintenance needed for event spaces and/or furniture to the event services manager.

Stock and organize supply carts with designated materials and equipment and then transport them to assigned function area. Will require standing, lifting (up to 35 lbs), and pulling/pushing (up to 70 lbs).

Deliver supplies such as soda and water, from the event kitchen and/or prep area, in a timely and efficient manner. Will require, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).

Retrieve clean linen and skirting from laundry vendor and stock in storage areas.Assist caterers in delivery and campus security with parking and visitor management as needed.

Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines (i.e., Touro Shirt or Polo).

Adhere to policies and procedures and health laws.

Other physical demands of this job include but are not limited to: standing for extended periods of time, bending, lifting (up to 70 lbs.), pulling/pushing (up to 70 lbs.), kneeling, and squatting,

Other duties and special projects as assigned by the Event Services Manager.
Qualifications:
Education

High school Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience
-
One year of previous banquet/event set-up experience, preferred
Skills & Abilities

Must be able to lift/ carry/ move 70 lbs. regularly.

Ability to take initiative and exhibit flexibility.

Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms.

Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and other departments.

Full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies, and procedures.
