Under direction, perform a variety of responsible and complex secretarial and administrative duties involved in support and coordination of projects within the Community and Economic Development Department; and to provide general information and assistance to the public
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform a wide variety of responsible and complex secretarial and administrative duties in support and coordination of projects of the assigned office including to relieve administrator from a variety of administrative details.
- Plan, organize, and carry out administrative assignments; research, compile, and organize information and data from various sources on a variety of specialized topics related to programs in assigned areas.
- Direct the work activities of assigned clerical personnel; prioritize and coordinate work assignments; review work for accuracy.
- Assist in a variety of department operations; perform special projects and assignments as requested in the fields of Planning, Building, Health, and Code Enforcement.
QUALIFICATIONS:(Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying.)
- Principles and practices of fiscal, statistical, and administrative data collection and report preparation.
- Principles of business letter writing and principles and procedures of record keeping.
- Learn, interpret, and apply the laws, codes, and regulations pertaining to assigned programs and functions.
- Research, compile, and prepare a variety of fiscal, statistical, and administrative reports.
- Compile and maintain complex and extensive records and prepare routine reports.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:(Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment)
Ability to work in a standard office environment.
