Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes while adhering to food safety standards.
Duties:
- Adhere to assigned shifts’ schedules.
- Communicates positively with customers, peers, and managers.
- Adhere to Sicliy’s standard of personal hygiene during the shift.
- Perform the opening checklist for opening the kitchen area at the beginning of the shift.
- Turn on the stove and fill the assigned pan with water for cooking.
- Check condiment containers and refill them as needed.
- Prepare dough using the dough machine.
- Thoroughly clean the dough machine after use.
- Weight and prepare dough in small, medium, large, and large sizes.
- Store the prepared dough in separate containers based on its size and place them in the freezer.
- Prepare (sanitize, cut) vegetables used in the prep table and fill the bins.
- Unpack the canned products in the prep table and fill the bins.
- Weigh and store pasta in the assigned containers in the cabinets under the perp table.
- Prepare all sauce used in the cooking process, refill bins on the prep table, and store extras in the designated freezer location.
- Prepare the meal solely based on the customer request noted on the order and by following Sicily’s recipes.
- Follow Sicily's food preparation and sanitization standards anytime during the shift.
- Wash and sanitize all the utensils after preparing the food.
- Weekly cleaning of internal parts of equipment like ovens and freezers..
- Ensure the cleanliness of the cooking area at any time during the shift.
- Perform the kitchen area closing checklist at the shift's end.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Cook or similar role
- Knowledge of various cooking methods and techniques
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
