Job Summary:
The Medical Records Clerk/MRI Patient Coordinator is an individual who has a split role between Medical Records and MRI Reception. This candidate must be dependable, detailed, organized, efficient, and a self-driven individual. Ideal candidate would have medical records experience and proficient in HIPAA guidelines. While day-to-day tasks can vary according to operational needs, the Medical Records/MRI Patient Coordinator is responsible for the following:
- Responsible for the management of all medical records request to ensure that all requests meet regulatory guidelines and are provide promptly and accurately.
- Maintains a process of logging all medical records requests.
- Responsible for requesting diagnostic images onto CD and provide to the authorized requesting party.
- Send and receive fax documentation, file and scan documentation into patient chart in a timely manner.
- Processes medical records requests from attorneys, court subpoenas, adjustors, federal disability requests, patients, doctor’s offices, insurance companies, third parties, etc.
- MRI Front Desk Coordinator is responsible for greeting patients with a positive attitude, performs check-in/out procedures, schedules subsequent appointments, checks patient benefits, obtains prior authorizations, documents communication, and scans documents into EMR system, collects patient’s portion of financial responsibility, as well as other functions.
- Individual must maintain professionalism while working with patients, insurance carriers, customers, and employees.
Candidate must be efficient, able to multitask, have discernment, be bubbly and have a positive attitude, be team-oriented, and LOVE our patients. Knowledge in health benefits and customer service a plus.
Qualifications
- Medical office experience
- Proficiency in EHR systems
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
- Knowledge of medical records management
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
- Excellent customer service skills
Hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am – 6:00pm.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a healthcare setting, contributing to the efficient operation of the facility while ensuring patient information is handled securely and professionally.

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
