As a Tax Manager, you will be required to manage various types of compliance projects, both small and large. You may be working on the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, an S Corporation with foreign issues, or on a simple nonresident return. Therefore, strong technical skills, initiative, and a strong work ethic are vital to this role. A Tax Manager is responsible for many types of compliance including review and signing of corporate, partnership and personal income tax returns, all with international aspects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of High Net Worth clients for business, partnership, and individual returns. Some simple, some very complex.
- Provide timely tax compliance and reporting on federal, state and local tax issues
- Review and sign income tax returns.
- Research into international tax issues as required
- Preparation and management of written correspondence/guidance with the IRS and state agencies.
- Utilize technology to continually learn and deliver high level client service
- Provide mentoring and coaching to client service staff
- Meet with clients to gather information.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a valid US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- Must have previous experience in a public accounting firm
- Experience with individual income taxation for high net worth taxpayers and/or solid domestic corporation/partnership tax experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 4+ years federal tax experience in public accounting
- Candidates should be technically proficient and possess outstanding leadership, mentoring and supervisory skills.
- Experience with Quickbooks, Prosystems FX or Axcess are a major plus.
- Experience with international tax compliance is desired but not required
Strong communication skills and the ability to build client relationships are essential.
