Major/Essential Functions
The Assistant Director will provide executive support to Associate Vice President of Research Innovation within the Division of Research Innovation, Collaboration, and Entrepreneurship in the TTUHSC Office of Research and Innovation. This role will include administrative coordination of day-to-day operations that focus on the overall success of the Texas Tech Research Park (TTRP) operations. Responsibilities will include financial management, administrative coordination, and board member engagement to ensure the seamless operation and growth of the Research Park. The Associate Director will be a key contributor to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration within the Lubbock and West Texas startup ecosystem.
About Texas Tech Research Park: The Texas Tech Research Park fosters innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurship in Lubbock and the West Texas region. With a focus on supporting startups, connecting investors, and facilitating industry partnerships, the Research Park aims to create a vibrant ecosystem that drives economic growth and new opportunities.
Financial Management: Oversee and manage the financial operations of the Research Park, including budgeting, procurement, and financial reporting. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial tracking, expense management, revenue generation, and strategic financial decision-making.
Administrative Coordination: Take charge of administrative functions to ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the Research Park. This includes overseeing office procedures, procurement, and maintaining positive vendor relationships.
Executive Support: Provide valuable support to the TTUHSC AVP for Research Innovation serving as the TTRP Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Assist in coordinating executive activities, managing schedules,coordinating travel and facilitating effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Board Member Engagement: Work closely with the CEO to facilitate and support board-related activities. Assist in scheduling board meetings, preparing meeting materials, documenting minutes, and fostering effective communication with board members.
TTRP Tenant Support: Collaborate with relevant teams to provide administrative support for Tenant-related initiatives, programs, and events. Contribute to the organization of workshops, networking sessions, and activities aimed at nurturing successful tenant experiences.
Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for the Chief Executive Officer and board members. Highlight key financial metrics, budget updates, and performance analyses to inform strategic decisions.
Collaboration and Networking: Provide executive support to relationships between various stakeholders,including industry partners, entrepreneurs, investors, and community members. Administrate collaboration, partnerships, and opportunities that align with the TTRP's vision.
Policy Compliance: Ensure tenant adherence to established policies, regulations, and legal requirements governing TTRP financial and administrative operations.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
