Summary:
Responsible for professional billing in the Baptist Health Heart Failure and Transplant Institute. Experienced with insurance verification, obtaining authorizations, coding/billing, and documentation. Works with patients and families on all financial issues for services/care we provide beginning with but not limited to the evaluation process of transplant and continuing through the transplant and post transplant phase. Extensive knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and CPT coding. Ability to capitalize on opportunities and manage associated coding and coding outcome risks. Assist with helping to set priorities, as appropriate. Will help to ensure minimal variation of coding practices and improve the quality of physician documentation. Understanding of coding ethics and compliance. Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and billing procedures is a must. Performs all job duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
- Billing/collections for medical practice or physician including ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT Coding.
- Claim audit experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive coding experience in Coding and/or HIM preferred.
- CPC,CCS, or RHIT required.
- Detailed knowledge of revenue cycle functions and relational metrics.
- Previous experience with 3M and EPIC is strongly desired.
Other information:
- Verification of benefits and authorization of services with insurance providers.
- Proper documentation in the patient record system in an orderly and timely manner, documenting thoroughly and ensuring easy access of information.
- Managing revenue cycle work queues for medical practice.
- Assist in coverage of the front office, performing all front office procedures and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Answer telephone in a professional and courteous manner, triaging information and transferring messages with timeliness and accuracy.
- Completes other assigned duties in a timely manner with quality outcomes.
- Accepts constructive feedback, guidance and accountability of their work.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
