Position Summary
Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization.
- Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
- Ensures compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations.
- Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
- Coordinates with and prepares reports for CFO and upper management.
- Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Prepares and files sales tax returns
- Creates monthly workpapers to assistant in closing the books
- Assists in the accounts payable processes. Review, code and process invoices and expense reports. Communicate with vendors for payment status and account reconciliation, process vendor payments and creating purchase orders
- Perform month-end bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
Staff Accountant
- Prepare quarterly Commercial Rent Tax return.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field (master’s preferred)
- At least 5 years’ experience in accounting
- Accounting firm experience required
- Required experience or expertise in Excel using formulas, V-lookup, and pivot tables.
- Experience in Quickbooks required.

Work Environment
This position operates in a remote work environment. The role will require completing tasks and projects using a computer, along with frequent and proficient use of chat messaging systems, video and phone calls, and other technological means of communication. This position may include operating in a professional office environment as well, which will include the use of standard office equipment.

Travel is primarily local during the business day with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel expected.
