JOB DESCRIPTION
The post-production supervisor is responsible for supervising the post-production process: pulling the final project together, making sure deadlines are met, overseeing visual effects, editing, printing, delivering, and maintaining communication between producers, editors, and the Traffic Manager.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Media
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manage the post-production operations within the department to deliver exceptional-quality media
- Supervise video post-production objectives by organizing the program elements, working with the production crew to organize necessary technical means, and organizing the personnel requirements to accomplish the task
- Evaluate the various stations of the post-production operation to ensure optimum efficiency
- Organize, monitor, and prioritize assigned tasks to meet defined production goals
- Ensure the flow of raw materials and other resources as related to project needs
- Maintain proper communication between employees and senior executives to ensure procedures and policies are well-understood and executed
- Responsible for the continued professional development, oversight, and performance management of all post-production and editing staff
- Organize the training and development of educational manuals for the production team
- Assisting in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires
- Ensuring compliance with safety and professional standards within the facility
- Other related duties as assigned

- Excellent organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills

- Ability to create and adhere to the production process
- Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays; up to 12-hour days leading up to and during production deadlines
- Multi-skilled approach to production; a master at time management
- Must have a working knowledge of composition pictorial continuity and audio to tell a story with competitive style and high-quality standards in the final product
- Must possess a strong collaborative spirit and understand the vision and creativity necessary to handle a broadcast as well as manage a production team to accomplish that vision
- Solid teaching skills to help evaluate and guide the staff always to increase their standard of production
- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in media or related field
- Experience managing a team and/or professional production crew
- A minimum of 4 years of video production experience in a medium-large scale market
