Overview
The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for the purchasing of construction materials and labor for new construction, in accordance with approved budgets, timelines, and project specifications. The role includes coordination with internal business partners, outside vendors, and contractors. This position reports to the Assistant Purchasing Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Upholds specifications and standards for cost, quality and vendor performance.

Issues PO’s, EPO’s, and start packages.

Communicates timely and effectively with all interested parties on all matters relevant to ongoing projects.

Maintains work records and files (e.g. purchase orders, architectural plans, material samples, job-related communications, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation as may be required for future reference and/or adhering to regulatory requirements.

Makes appropriate suggestions for cost savings initiatives relating to the procurement of materials and labor.

Permitting homes within cities and municipalities.

Running reports and analytics as requested by management.

Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years of construction materials purchasing experience or experience as a construction superintendent.

Experience with production home building purchasing software a plus.

Must have excellent written and oral communications skills.

Must be detail oriented with excellent organization skills.

Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Must be able to be highly effective with minimal daily supervision.

Must be reliable and motivated.

Must be focused and able to manage fast-paced, multiple projects with strict adherence to budgets and deadlines.

Must be able to work well in both an individual and team environment.

Must have proficiency in reading blueprints and related construction documents.
Physical Demands:

Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.

Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.

Occasional lifting (up to 40 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
