St. Paul – Colerain Township, Ohio 45247
Position: Full-time Pastor
Compensation Package: $40,000.00 to $54,000.00
St. Paul church is ready to start a new chapter. We are excited to partner with a new leader to help guide us into the future. Someone that can lead and inspire our congregation along our journey of faith, who will continue to develop and expand the partnerships that we have initiated with other local churches, and who will reach out to former and inactive members, neighbors, and friends of the church and invite them to join us.
St. Paul is a friendly, caring, welcoming, mission-oriented, cooperative, generous, outgoing, loving, and dedicated group of Bible-believing theologically conservative Christians. We are seeking a Biblical pastor to lead us.
We are a mission-oriented congregation of primarily retirees with time to devote to expanding our ministry partnerships with local churches, opening our facilities to more community groups, reaching out to our community, and finding new ways to serve our neighbors.
God is calling us to serve the baby boomer generation as they age and retire, to be a welcoming and supporting refuge for those who have recently lost their spouse, and to continue to be a secure, stable, and reliable source of comfort for our long-standing members. God also wants us to be welcoming and relevant to our younger members, and inviting to their peers. God also wants us to reach out to find seekers of all ages in our community, and to invite them to become part of our faith family.
We believe that good preaching is Bible-based, expository, interesting, applicable to everyday life, humorous, inspiring, motivating, positive, challenging, and that it connects with the congregation.
Location:
We are in Southwestern Ohio, outside of Cincinnati, in Colerain. Colerain Township has grown dramatically over the years, yet still retains a rural charm, and small-town feel. This may be due to the large number of families with deep roots in the area. Roots that often go back several generations. Talk with a neighbor long enough and chances are you'll find a shared relative in your pasts. While our farming heritage makes our residents strong and independent, our connectedness makes Colerain a friendly area where people help each other out when asked.
Scope of Work:
Preparation and leadership of Sunday worship including scripture study, crafting of liturgy and bulletin with help from our deacons, sermon preparation, planning of music in coordination with our musical staff and volunteers, preaching, offering of prayers, etc.
Faith formation and vitality through prayer, leading our weekly Bible study, leading our Lenten series, service, identifying helpful resources and opportunities and helping lay persons take advantage of them.
Leadership development by working collaboratively with people in the church to create ministry and programs
Pastoral care in collaboration with our Caring Team to our sick, elderly, or grieving.
Community engagement and leading the way for the church to be an ambassador of God's love, and continuing our partnerships with area churches.
Weddings and funerals for participants in the worshiping community
Study and prayer to increase faith and improve skills, to pursue continuous improvement as a leader, teacher, and preacher.
Energizing and deepening spiritual connections and faith understandings of others in all they do.
Core Competencies:
Good communication and pastoral skills: The minister must be an effective preacher who is motivational, sociable, caring, and sensitive to the needs of a “baby boomer” population, while also able to reach out to a younger constituency.
Inspirational: The minister must be someone who will lead and inspire the congregation along its journey of faith. The minister explores with the congregation alternative ways of worship, Bible study, social groups, prayer groups, etc. that appeal to both the older and younger generations, and to both long-time members as well as people new to our congregation.
Mission: The minister must be someone who will help our congregation seek creative innovations to our continuing mission endeavors.
Credentials: Must be licensed or ordained, or actively seeking to be.
We look forward to hearing from you! Thanks for considering us! May God guide you on your search!
