SENIOR I&C Technician
As the Sr. I&C Technician, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. Based in Ridgeland, MS, you’ll support the Facility Maintenance Team in the preventative, corrective, and general maintenance of plant systems for the client. Other duties include, but not limited to, daily assessments of systems, assisting other trades in performing general maintenance tasks. The install, trouble shoot, and repair instrumentation systems and components, apparatus and devices. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with treatment facility instrumentation and controls.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· At least 5 years of progressive experience in the field
· Working knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems including control systems, instruments, low voltage distribution, power distribution, temporary power, electrical equipment, testing, energizing, and commissioning support.
· Committed to safety with ability to facilitate daily JHA’s, etc.
· Committed to quality with ability to quality assure the work-in-place.
· Proficient in software use such as Microsoft suite
· Experience working with PLCs and SCADA systems.
· Prior experience supervising and working with internal/regional support and subcontractor resources
· Strong communications skills
· Diagnoses malfunctioning I&C systems.
· Performs preventative and predictive maintenance tasks
· 5 years related experience in a manufacturing, industrial or water treatment facility.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
Ideally, you will also have:
- Ability to read complex wiring diagrams, identify electrical components, and extensive knowledge in troubleshooting of control circuits.
- Experience using guidelines from the National Electrical Code, local codes, safety regulations and standard practices. Wears PPE and ARC Flash equipment while performing live troubleshooting evolutions.
· OSHA 30 training
· Ability to collaborate in planning, design, construction, and commissioning.
· Ability to facilitate walkdowns and reviews with internal resources, engineers, and designers.
- Ability to read and understand system blueprints, specifications, and performance data to determine configuration and purpose of system components.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements. Additional demands may involve a specific level of dexterity, grip strength, climbing and cardiorespiratory demands. The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
