USRBP is currently looking for an Account Service Representative in the Owings Mills, MD region for our Partner Firm, SF&C Select Benefits Communications Group. For more information about Select Benefits, please visit our website: www.selectbenefitsgroup.com.
The Account Service Representative is responsible for onboarding new clients and transitioning existing clients to new enrollment platforms and/or new lines of coverage for primarily voluntary benefits. Responsible for entering data accurately and timely on required applications, including changes and terminations into specific database. Develops and maintains reports to facilitate follow-up on pending issues, as well as document/file management. Assists with enrollment planning and may attend new hire and open enrollment meetings. Carriers, products, and processing requirements may vary from group to group. Groups vary by type and size as well. Work with insurance carriers and employer groups to resolve policy issuance/billing/deduction issues and escalate them to management as needed.
Responsibilities
- Respond timely to internal and external emails and phone requests.
- Work with enrollment team to increase revenues by expanding the lines of coverage offered; and assist with new hire and open enrollment meetings.
- Distribute necessary employer/employee corporate communication letters including coverage termination, rate changes, etc.
- Consistently convey a genuine desire to assist clients and team members, driven to bring issues to conclusion.
- Enter and track new applications and enrollments received.
- Submit applications and follow up with carriers to ensure timely and complete enrollment within deadline as needed.
- Complete and update internal set-up documentation for new groups and plan changes for existing groups.
- Maintain and coordinate re-enrollment process of existing accounts.
- Respond to calls from agents, clients and potential clients for the purpose of solving problems with product offerings and processing new business within a designated time frame.
- Resolve enrollment and other issues from customers, agents, and individual member users.
- Understand, explain, and address questions on an array of voluntary benefits products such as life, disability, critical illness, and accident insurance, etc. to end users of products as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, or High School diploma with comparable insurance industry experience.
- A minimum of 2 years insurance benefits experience in an agency or carrier setting; voluntary benefits experience preferred.
- Maryland Life and Health License, or willingness to acquire license within 120 days.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency required.
- Must be able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple priorities under deadlines without losing accuracy.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills to effectively relay information to internal and external teammates, agents, clients.
- Must be well-organized and detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills and adherence to scheduled duties and deadlines.
- Pleasant and professional phone manner which conveys willingness to help.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
