About the Job:
We're excited to announce an opportunity for the position of Business Banking Loan Administrator! Under the direction of the Commercial Loan Administration Officer, the Business Banking Loan Administrator is responsible for assisting the business banking team with coordinating loan closings, pre and post-closing follow-up, on-going file maintenance, legal documentation review, assisting with customer inquiries, booking all business banking loan and modification data (structure, borrowers, collateral, pricing) within the core system as well as maintaining many post-closing tracking reports and compliance collection data and other duties as assigned.
The hiring range for this position is $48,000 to $58,000.
This position is Full Time, 40 hours weekly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other Duties May be Assigned):

In collaboration with the assigned Business Banking Officers, this position organizes the business banking loan process from application through loan closing, including ordering/preparing legal documents and other necessary loan application documentation as instructed by the loan officers.

Works in collaboration with Business Banking Portfolio Specialist and Loan Officers to coordinate the obtainment of all necessary application documentation. Ensures that applications are processed in a timeframe that meets all compliance deadlines. Follows up with applicants and borrowers to obtain additional information on an ongoing basis as necessary.

Drafts commitment letters, coordinates the signing with the borrower, and forwards the completed document to the Bank’s attorney for document preparation.

Reviews all legal documentation for attorney-prepared loans and loan modifications to ensure the accuracy of all loan documents based on the loan approval, to include the proper rate, payment, collateral and other terms as outlined in the loan approval and commitment letter. Ensures that all closing conditions are met prior to loan closing.

Prepares all loan documentation for in-house closings through LaserPro and prepares all in-house loan modification documents based on approval. This includes conducting research on prior modifications completed, as well as, ensuring flood determinations and insurance requirements are completed or updated as needed.

Orders flood determinations on all real estate properties associated with each loan. Ensures that the lender is notified of the results and that due diligence is followed according to policy. Responsible to stay up to date with all FEMA regulations and Bank policies regarding flood coverage requirements. Ensures proper insurance coverage is in place prior to closing which includes exact name, property, coverage type and coverage amount.

Subject to the Bank’s policies and procedures, controls and disburses loan funds to attorneys and borrowers via direct funding or wire transfer. Additionally, responsible for ensuring the receipt and accuracy of all loan closing fees (i.e. tax escrow, commitment, appraisal, environmental etc.).

Responsible for booking commercial loans and modifications in a timely manner, reviewing within the department’s internal guidelines and delivering to the Commercial Servicing Department for scanning and formal quality control within required timelines.

Completes HMDA data collection within Globalwave based on the information provided on loan applications paired with reviewing appraisals and other documents to gather all of the necessary information provided. Based on loan review, determines if a loan qualifies for CRA Community Development by reviewing the five criteria of CD reporting.

Knowledge and Skills
It is required that the employee in this position can work independently, interpreting ideas and facts, while also analyzing and interpreting federal and state laws and/or regulations. This employee should have strong customer service and sales skills, as well as strong written communication skills and the ability to make effective presentations in a group setting. Employees with exceptional verbal and numerical aptitudes are required. Must also demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced and highly dynamic office environment all while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
This position requires knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. Knowledge of Finastra core platform, OnBase, LaserPro, and Global Wave is preferred. Proficient ability to navigate the sites of Registry of Deeds and Secretary of the Commonwealth is also preferred.
Education and Work Experience
An Associate’s Degree or commensurate professional experience is required. A minimum of one year of working experience in general lending administration responsibilities is required; specific experience in commercial lending is strongly preferred. Experience reviewing financial documentation, preferably commercial loan documentation and/or business account opening documentation, and knowledge of business ownership types, is preferred, as well as knowledge of working in a core banking system.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
This position is in an office environment, which means the physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards, with a moderate level of noise. Prolonged periods of sitting and looking at a computer screen with freedom of movement on a regular basis is expected. Minimal physical effort is required but could include: repetitive motion of wrists and fingers; talking and hearing; and handling of light materials and supplies. This position may require some local travel between offices and customer sites.
