Multi specialty practice looking for a patient account representative to handle all matters pertaining to patient billing and medical insurance claims. Must have knowledge and skill in collecting payments, creating suitable payment plans for patients, and be the liaison for the billing department to the front desk. Job responsiblities also include daily balancing of front desk receipts and managing past due accounts. Must be able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment. Great customer service is a must. Phone etiquette is required.
- Balance journals from the front desk, OMWL department, and Physical therapy.
- Scan labs, paper charges, ABNs, EOBs, and other needed documentation needed by the billing department.
- Contact the patient for updated demographics when returned mail is received.
- Addresses patient concerns and calls regarding balances and questions in regards to services provided on their statement.
- Monitors patient balances and collections. This will be done by making phone calls and sending letters in attempts to collect debts owed to the clinic. It also includes sending accounts to collections and monitoring their success in collecting those balances.
- Setting up and monitoring payment arrangements on balances.
- Assists the billing department with miscellaneous tasks that include but is not limited to auditing patient credits, faxing EOB’s, running patient payment logs for proof of payments, open encounters in the EHR system, and audits charges for lab tests to ensure all charges are received.
- Assists the medical team and front desk team on projects and tasks that include but not limited to reschedule lists, deactivation lists, no shows, discharge letters, and wellness recall lists.
- Liaison between the patient and office staff when it relates to claims, statements, charges, balances, or anything billing/insurance related.
- Participate in answering incoming calls to the front desk when there is an excess of incoming calls that the operators cannot get to in a timely manner.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
