Neuropathologist
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) in conjunction with IU Health Physicians (IUHP), is jointly recruiting a neuropathologist with strong diagnostic skills to join its neuropathology division.
The individuals selected will be based at the IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory (IUHPL). The neuropathology division is part of robust, subspecialized anatomic pathology group of greater than 50 pathologists with a plan for continued expansion. The neuropathology division serves 10 hospitals within the IU Health Hospital network, Eskenazi Health, and the Roudebush VA Medical Center, resulting in an excellent case mix. Additionally, the range of specimens is broad, including robust adult and pediatric surgical neuropathology (e.g. neoplasms, epilepsy, inflammatory/infectious cases), muscle and nerve biopsies, ophthalmic pathology, and autopsy pathology. Pediatric neuropathology is associated with Riley Children’s Health, the only comprehensive pediatric hospital in the state with an active neurosurgery service. The neuropathologic divisions supports a comprehensive neuropathology fellowship training program for up to 2 fellows per year.
The division also supports the academic missions of the Indiana University School of Medicine which includes the Stark Neuroscience Center, the Indiana Alzheimer’s Disease Center, and the IU Health Neuroscience Center.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver professional diagnostic services within neuropathology
- Provide on-call coverage and clinical conference support within the neuropathology space alongside other department faculty members
- Actively participate in educational activities with medical students, residents, and fellows, including with 1-2 neuropathology fellows annually

The academic rank of the appointment will be determined by qualifications and level of experience.
