Christ Church Port Orange - Children & Youth Director/Pastor
Full-time Position
Christ Church Port Orange is a medium sized (500-750) and growing (22-40% annually) multigenerational church, with a passion for people to know Gods love for them and to follow Jesus. Our Sunday Children’s Ministry program (Christ Church Kids) exists to create a loving, fun, and safe environment for kids ages 0-12 to experience Gods love for them. We partner with parents to develop the faith of their kids and their families. From birth, the experiences children have shape how they know and understand God and the church. Faith development occurs at every phase and this position ensures an environment that is secure and nurturing. We desire that every child will see, hear, and feel the love of God and that parents will feel confident that their child will receive the highest quality of care and ministry. The Director of Children’s Ministry is responsible for overseeing the operation and structure of ministry for birth - 5th grade for regularly scheduled services and events and potentially the leadership and oversight of the middle/high school Wednesday night youth group.
- Maintain a growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Ensure the program is aligned with the mission and vision of CCPO.
- Partner with parents, ensuring regular communication and resources.
- Recruit, train, and invest in Sunday volunteers, nursery staff, and office volunteer teams for Sunday morning services (currently 3).
- Oversee curriculum development and ensure its implementation.
- Oversee any children’s mid-week activities and volunteers.
- Oversee and coordinate all (VBS) activities and volunteers.
- Develop and direct programs for special events as needed (Good Friday, Christmas Eve, etc).
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, working cooperatively with all other staff members.
Requirements:
- A growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- A strong problem solving ability and the motivation to work independently.
- A deep sense of calling to Children’s Ministry and a natural ability to relate and work well with children and their parents.
- Proficiency with Planning Center, Google Drive, and Apple products.
- A desire to empower and resource parents to be the primary spiritual influence in their homes.
- Passion to lead kids in their relationship and knowledge of God and the Bible.
- Experience recruiting, training, and inspiring volunteers.
- Ability to use creativity in all areas of responsibility (teaching, team building, environment, programs and events, etc.)
- An understanding and agreement with the core values and essential tenets of the Christian Faith and the mission of CCPO.
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and a minimum of 2-3 years of Children’s Ministry experience is required.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
