Job Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing daily accounting tasks, and supporting the overall financial health of the company. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing accounting and be proficient in QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage payroll processing and related tax filings.
- Coordinate with the CPA firm for complex accounting tasks and year-end audits.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Assist in the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and processes.
- Provide financial insights and reports to support management decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CPA candidate.
- Experience with inventory management and cost accounting.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
