Role Overview:
The Accounting Manager at HLS will be integral in managing our financial records and ensuring compliance with legal financial practices. This role is ideal for individuals eager to develop a robust accounting foundation, particularly in the non-profit sector, and who are interested in potential long-term opportunities at HLS.
Tasks and Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and overseeing HLS’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and conduct monthly analyses.
- Manage daily financial operations, including invoicing, payroll, and expense tracking.
- Participate in fundraising activities and grant management.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure HLS meets legal financial standards.
- Implement and refine financial policies and procedures to maximize efficiency.
- Provide strategic financial insights to aid organizational decisions.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders about financial health and forecasts.
- Manage HLS’s financial systems and lead technological upgrades as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in accounting and financial management, preferably within the non-profit sector.
- Understanding of financial regulations applicable to non-profits.
- Proficient in financial software, databases, and Excel.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Passionate about HLS’s mission and committed to community service.
Note: This role will require up to 10 hours of dedicated, focused time worked on a weekly basis. Weekly team and one-on-one meetings are mandatory.
