About This Role
The Shipping/Receiving Lead is a dynamic role focused on ensuring the efficient handling of goods within the logistics department. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from picking and packing orders, managing inventory through QuickBooks, to coordinating shipments with carriers. Ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented individual, this role requires precision in managing physical goods, updating systems, and maintaining a safe work environment. The specialist will be integral to sustaining the flow of products to and from the company.

Duties and Responsibilities
Order Fulfillment:
- Order Processing: Handle the picking and packing of goods according to company standards and customer specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks to ensure that all items meet the required standards before shipment.
- Team Support: Assist in the assembly or production areas as needed to ensure the timely fulfillment of customer orders.
Shipping:
- Order Preparation: Ensure each order is picked correctly, packed securely to prevent damage, and prepared for shipping to minimize costs.
- Logistics Coordination: Book shipments with carriers like FedEx, ensuring timely dispatch. Create and manage shipping documentation.
- Inventory Management: Maintain stock levels of shipping supplies, ensuring availability for operations.
Receiving:
- Goods Inspection: Process all incoming deliveries, verifying items against packing slips and purchase orders for accuracy and completeness.
- System Updates: Record all received goods into QuickBooks, maintaining up-to-date inventory data.
- Stock Organization: Ensure received items are stocked in the correct warehouse locations or delivered to the appropriate individuals.
Professional Skills:
- Relevant Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in a shipping and receiving or warehouse role, handling order fulfillment, inventory management, and logistics coordination.
- Forklift Operation: Experienced and certified in operating forklifts safely and efficiently within warehouse environments.
- Inventory Management: Proficient in using inventory management systems to accurately track stock levels and maintain detailed records.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for coordinating with team members and external partners.
- Quality Control: Ability to conduct thorough inspections and maintain quality standards throughout the shipping and receiving process.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Advanced Logistics and 3PL Management: Deep understanding of logistics strategies and experienced in managing third-party logistics providers to optimize distribution networks.
- Inventory and Warehouse Operations Expertise: Advanced skills in inventory forecasting and insight into streamlining warehouse operations, adopting best practices for efficient workflow and safety.
- Warehouse Design and Setup: Hands-on experience in planning, designing, and setting up new warehouse facilities, ensuring effective layout and system integration.
