General Summary: Four Rivers Community Health Center is looking for an experienced and compassionate Phlebotomist/Lab Technician to join our team. We are seeking a team member that is confident in their skills, patient focused, positive, and will go beyond for their patients and team.
The Four Rivers Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting and processing blood and other specimens from patients for laboratory testing. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely results that contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The team members will be working collaboratively with health care providers and other team members to deliver high-quality care to our patients.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- As an integral member of our healthcare team, the Four Rivers Phlebotomist will collect samples from patients, prepare them for laboratory testing, and provide excellent customer service.
- Collect and process various specimens, including blood, urine, and throat swabs from patients safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all specimens are properly labeled and stored to maintain specimen integrity.
- Greet patients and explain procedures to alleviate any concerns.
- Verify patient identification and collect relevant medical information.
- Provide post-procedure care instructions to patients.
- Maintain accurate records of specimen collection, processing, and test results.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities, including routine equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and team members.
- Maintain inventory of phlebotomy and laboratory supplies.
- Document all procedures and results accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or GED certification
Experience:
- Minimum one year of experience
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
