General Information:
This full time position, reporting to the Director, is responsible for managing a minimal caseload and supervising the work of other case managers. This position is also responsible for assuming the responsibilities of the Director in his/her absence.
Required knowledge, Abilities and Experience:
Knowledge of: ·
- The functions of the Criminal Justice System
- The principles of community corrections, and
- Individual and group behavior of persons with criminal backgrounds
Ability to:
- Administer community-based treatment through case management
- Plan, organize and manage a caseload
- Supervise the work of other case managers effectively
- Interpret rules and regulations, policies and procedures, and the standards and objectives of the company and contracting agencies
- Interpret contractual and administrative rights and obligations of residents
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other components of the Criminal Justice System
- Act decisively, tactfully and with firmness in emergency situations;
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing with all levels of the organization and other components of the Criminal Justice System
- Meet contracting agency clearance requirements, and
- Work a flexible schedule
Academic and Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a social science with three years of satisfactory performance as a counselor or a case manager (supervisor experience preferred) in a correctional environment. Valid driver’s license required.
