Shop Service Technician - Job Description
Definition and Nature of the Work
Shop Service Technicians are employed by W. D. Matthews Machinery Co. to repair both WDM owned and customer owned equipment The equipment they are expected to maintain or repair includes, but is not limited to, gas, diesel, propane and electric powered forklift equipment as well as aerial and manlift equipment. Shop Technicians report directly to shop foreman.
The applicant must complete all applicable paper work daily and turn it in to the shop foreman for processing.
The applicant will receive an allowance to rent or lease uniforms that are to be worn while servicing our customers as well as a annual tool allowance.
Requirements:
We prefer to hire High School Graduates with experience in the Material Handling Field. The applicant must have basic mechanical and technical experience on Forklifts, 3 years of experience is preferred.
The primary function of the Shop Service Technician is to repair and maintain industrial equipment, the physical requirements include: lifting and carrying a toolbox weighting approximately 40lbs, bending, climbing and working under equipment. Safe work practices are a must.
