The IP Engineering position will perform all activities associated with the creation, maintenance and support of all Logix Network Elements. Duties include high level routing, switching and MPLS network engineering, configuration and support. We will offer on the job training for the ideal candidates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
1. Good working knowledge of Windows Operating systems.
2. Familiar with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
3. Good working knowledge of Adtran, Brocade, ALU/Nokia and Cisco routers.
4. Good working knowledge of Ciena SAOS 6, 8, and 10
5. Base working knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF,ISIS and BGP).
6. Good working knowledge of STP, RSTP, 8032ERP.
7. Good Knowledge Local Area Network.
8. Good Knowledge Wide Area Network knowledge.
9. Base working knowledge of Ethernet based fiber optic networks as well as SONET and DWDM.
10. Provide support to Tier 2 and Tier 3 Support/NOC staff.
11. Ability to assist in Lab testing projects and document accordingly.
12. Ability to implement change management procedures as needed.
13. Manage and engineer projects related to Layer 2 and Layer 3 network re-designs and expansions.
14. Write standard operating procedures related to processes and equipment
15. May be required to travel to other markets for special projects or training.
16. Good interpersonal skills.

· Attends work on time as scheduled;
· Required to call in to report an absence no less than one hour prior to the start of the shift by contacting the supervisor directly and stating reason for absence;

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Recommended to have a college degree or 1 to 5 years’ experience in major area. Display a base knowledge in Network design and or architecture.
Candidate should have at least two of the following or equivalent work experience of 1 to 5 years in network engineering, management and development:
1. Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA)
3. Nokia Network Routing Specialist I (NRSI) Certification
3. Net+
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak clearly and listen effectively. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Standing and walking are necessary. Must be able to lift items up to 10 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Maintain forty (40) hours per week performance level, plus additional hours, as job and or on-call duty requires.
