Detailer / Lot Attendant Position Summary
Wash or clean vehicles such as buses, minibuses, school buses, trolley, limo and vans, machinery, other equipment and yard. Use such materials as water, cleaning agents, brushes, cloths, and hoses.

Detailer / Lot Attendant Job Duties:
- Inspect vehicles for cleanliness within standards or regulations.
- Scrub, scrape, or spray machine parts, equipment, or vehicles, using scrapers, brushes, clothes, cleaners, disinfectants, insecticides, acid, abrasives, vacuums, and hoses.
- Mix cleaning solutions, abrasive compositions, and other compounds, according to formulas.
- Press buttons to activate cleaning equipment or machines.
- Clean and polish vehicle windows.
- Clean restrooms in buses.
- Sweep and mop inside vehicles.
- Clean dashboard with tire shine.
- Put tire shine on tires.
- Take out trash in vehicles.
- Vacuum vehicles.
- Check and clean luggage bins inside and underneath buses.
- Wash glassware.
- Steam clean engine and undercarriage.
- Wax exterior of vehicles.
- Detail driver area and doorway.
- Rinse objects and place them on drying racks; or use cloth, squeegees, or air compressors to dry surfaces.
- Drive vehicles to wash bay or as instructed by supervisor.
- Turn valves or handles on equipment in order to regulate pressure and flow of water, air, steam, or abrasives from sprayer nozzles.
- Pre-soak or rinse vehicles by immersing in cleaning solutions or water, manually or using hoists.
- Monitor operation of cleaning machines, and stop machines or notify supervisors when malfunctions occur.
- Restock supply after use.
- Maintain inventories of supplies and notify supervisor of the need to reorder.
- Apply polishes, conditioners, and waxes to vehicles in order to preserve, protect, or restore color and condition.
- Turn valves or disconnect hoses in order to eliminate water, cleaning solutions, or vapors from machinery or tanks.
- Sweep, shovel, or vacuum loose debris and salvageable scrap into containers; and remove containers from work areas.
- Periodic through cleaning of vehicles.
- Office and restroom cleaning when necessary to include dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning windows, and taking out trash
