Job Description: Transition Program Coordinator
Reports to: Head of Service
Status: Exempt, Full Time
Job Summary:
The Program Coordinator is an integral part of the Step Up Institute’s Transition Hub, and is responsible, under the supervision of the Head of Service in the:
- Development, implementation, and maintenance of vocational and adaptive behavior programming at the Step Up Institute’s Transition Hub
- Assisting the Head of Service with the supervision of Transition Hub staff
- Planning, managing, and documenting assigned staff efforts to properly address vocational and adaptive behavior needs by building functional skill repertoires
- Implementing and monitoring programs, assessing performance of programs, and making adjustments as necessary.
- Supporting staff, clients, and families with regard to vocational support plans, behavior plans, parent training, and resources.
- Being a positive role model and leading with a positive and congenial attitude reflective of the Step Up Institute’s goal of creating a warm, caring, and supporting environment.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in ABA or related field
BCBA certification
Current (dated within a year) Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances
Negative TB test dated within three months of hire
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services that support the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the Institute rooted in supportive and caring delivery of services and trauma-informed care.
- Lead the use of Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies and procedures as needed for individual client behavior needs and crisis situations within the Institute programs
- Act as the model for the use of proactive relational and environmental supports for clients and program staff
- Train and supervise all staff regarding vocational and adaptive behavior programs
- Attend regular meetings for staff and assist the Head of Service in seeing the general policies of the organization are being followed
- Supervise RBTs and Program Assistants with regard to client vocational and adaptive behavior programs under the direction of the Head of Service and in conjunction with the Associate Head of School.
- Familiarity and ability to administer and interpret a variety of clinical and vocational assessments
- Display excellent clinical competence and judgment; ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Ability to develop and monitor implementation of vocational and adaptive behavior programs; regularly analyze data and complete written reports to document client progress; provide feedback to all stakeholders
- Complete assessments and develop positive behavior support plans
- Conduct functional analyses and ongoing functional assessments along with behavior plans as needed.
- Measure and track progress of each client based on observation and data reviews.
- Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with staff and clients; respect for cultural diversity and capability of adapting behavioral procedures to meet the individual needs of each client.
- Supervise staff in the development, implementation, and monitor vocational and adaptive behavior programs
- Excellent written and verbal skills; detail oriented.
- Strong leadership and management capabilities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to individual and family needs and requests; maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain active certification in Step Up Institute’s approved crisis prevention management program.
- Assist the Head of Service to provide leadership for activities which affect the current and future development of the Institute
- Assist the Head of Service in the supervision the development of all programming and services offered through the Institute
- Assist Head of Service with potential/prospective client interviews and acceptance and decisions for the Institute.
- Assist the Head of Service with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding staff
- Assist the Head of Service with financial management of assigned program's budget

- To read and abide by the Employee Handbook including updates and changes.
- To attend all mandatory meetings, including those that fall outside of regularly scheduled school hours and as described in the Employee Handbook.

Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, running, kneeling, and moving furniture is required. This position requires a great deal of physical stamina and the ability to provide active crisis prevention interventions, including physical restraints when absolutely necessary. Adequate vision and hearing ability for monitoring children’s verbal and non-verbal responses. Ability to provide a quality behavior model for clients and staff.
Safety and Health:
Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions.
Knowledge of best practices regarding behavioral de-escalation and safety protocols.
Ability to perform as a leader during physically difficult situations
Equipment/Material Handled:
The Program Coordinator shall be assigned a variety of evaluation and consulting materials which are to be appropriately stored and accounted for. All media resources and borrowed material are to be judiciously used, and are to be maintained in a reasonably unsoiled and non- damaged fashion. Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
