Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring manufacturing and manufacturing support equipment is in optimal operational condition. Performs daily preventive / predictive maintenance practices.
Essential Job Functions:
· Demonstrated background in a metal stamping and robotic MIG weld environment.
· Maintains equipment to optimal operating efficiency.
· Maintains spare parts inventory and the Spare Parts Log.
· Troubleshoots equipment when non-operational. Utilizes equipment manuals for diagnostic problem solving.
· Logs major downtime events, and the resulting repair resolutions.
· Maintains the maintenance area to established 5-S levels.
· Assist in new part launches and equipment installations.
· (May) operate fork truck, pallet jack, and other shop equipment.
· Ensures safe operating practices are followed.
· Formulates and recommends changes in working conditions, use of equipment, and departments to improve efficiency.
Other Job Functions
· Reviews and resolves manufacturing related issues.
· Resolves spare parts inventory discrepancies.
· Understands posted production schedules based on customer demand.
· Completes and verifies MIG welder changeover / mechanical issues.
· Regularly reviews and maintains PM logs.
· Develops predictive / preventive maintenance activities for equipment.
Job Qualification Requirements:
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
MIG Welding: 3-5 years of demonstrated robotic MIG welding experience. Must be experienced in robotic programming / teaching, with focus on MIG welding applications. Fanuc robotics (primarily 100 Series) experience is a plus. Must be able to interpret and have working knowledge of PLC’s and Ladder Logic. Must be familiar with current Microsoft Office applications.
STAMPING: 3-5 years of demonstrated experience with coil-fed progressive type equipment. Press tonnage range is 50 to 400, with a total of 7 press lines. All presses are equipped with Wintress Smart Pac 2 controls. Must also be able to support the press toolroom in equipment PM’s / repairs.
RECOMMENDED ATTRIBUTES: Detail oriented, highly organized, mathematically, and mechanically inclined. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must pass physical exam / other screening.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal warehouse environment. Minimal exposure to fork truck exhaust, metal manufacturing, including resistance and MIG welding, metal stamping and normal non-hazardous cleaning compounds / agents in the shop.
