EARTHWORK FOREMAN
The Earthwork Foreman will directly supervise and coordinate activities of the Earthwork Crew and may also engage in the trade work of the employees being supervised.
Earthwork Foreman Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise field operations and coordinate the activities of an earth work crew on site development projects. This may include coordinating the activities of subcontractors.
- Reports on work to Superintendent and / or owners on a regular basis throughout the project.
- Examine / inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered.
- Recommend and implement corrective action as required in collaboration with workers and management.
- Coordinates and operates all types of heavy equipment for dirt and site projects.
- Knowledgeable in all areas of dirt work including excavation, grade work, surveying and final excavating work.
- Reads, understands, and interprets drawings and specifications.
- Reports on time and materials.
- Completes required reports and files with the office in a timely manner
- Responsible for implementing and enforcing safety policies and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Earth Work Foreman Requirements:
- This is NOT an entry level position – it requires demonstrable previous experience in a Foreman position
- Minimum of five years’ experience in overseeing multi-phase earthwork projects
- Experienced on all types of heavy equipment for site work projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and physically able to climb on and off heavy equipment safely
- A sound understanding of and commitment to pertinent safety guidelines.
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Capacity to provide and follow direction.
- Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Regular attendance is required – must be reliable & dependable
- Most job sites are in Nassau county Florida or the surrounding area – must be located in this area.
- Authorized to work in the United States

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
· Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
· Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
· May require some strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
· Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least 8 hours per day.
· Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
