Reporting to the VP Business Development, the incumbent is responsible for communicating with case managers, physicians, payers, and others at assigned referral sources to further the mission of Barlow, exercising independent judgment to assess patient needs prior to admission, facilitating the referral and admission of patients to Barlow, all in collaboration with Barlow hospital departments and Medical Director.
The Clinical Admissions Coordinator assists in processing referrals/admissions via various electronic interfaces provided by referring hospitals and Barlow, including but not limited to LTRAX, MediTech and the Barlow Bed Board, and by communicating with physicians, nursing, case management, social services (at referring hospital, payer, and at Barlow) and with patient and significant others who have an ongoing caring relationship with the patient.
The Clinical Admissions Coordinator develops and maintains solid long-term relationships with specific assigned referral sources and conducts in-person visits to assigned referral sources on schedule as arranged and approved by the VP Business Development in conjunction with assigned referral sources.
Qualifications:
- Requires RN (BSN preferred) or RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner) with at least 1 year of critical care experience.
- LTCH, Subacute, rehabilitation sales experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills required
