Senior Staff Accountant
Multi-entity Real Estate Investment, Development, and Property Management/ Service Provider headquartered in Long Island City, NY, is seeking an experienced full-time Senior Staff Accountant to join its accounting department. The following listing describes the areas of major areas of assignment and responsibility:
· Manage the general Ledger recordings of payroll and company benefits and produce related reports.
· Prepare General Ledger work papers for Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss accounts related to the Year Ending reporting, as well as interim periods. This includes analysis of such accounts as Accounts Receivable, Prepaid Insurance, Fixed Assets and Mortgages Payable.
· Analyze intercompany balances and transactions from the various journals of entry and prepare journal entry adjustments as necessary.
· Assist in producing documentation for, and responding to queries by, our external auditors, bank lenders, and regulatory agencies.
· Prepare schedules and spreadsheets allocating various expenses among managed and related entities.
· Assist with monthly and quarterly sales tax files.
· Assist in the preparation of Workers Compensation audit schedules.
· Internal Audit testing of various transactions entered by the bookkeeping department.
· Review of bank reconciliations.
· Prepare and file periodic reports and forms with the relevant Governmental Agencies.
About your Expereince
· 5-8 years of accounting experience in either public accounting or private industry, or a combination thereof. Real Estate accounting experience preferred.
· Experienced in Sales Tax and Payroll Tax filings.
· Experienced using Word, Excel (intermediate level+), Outlook, QuickBooks, and Adobe Acrobat.
· Experience with RealPage is a plus.
· Experienced in work paper preparation of General Ledger accounts.
· Familiar with an ADP payroll reporting system.
· Experience with 3rd party audits (CPA, Insurance, HUD)
· Familiarity with Government-supervised housing is a plus.
· Having a CPA license or working towards it is a plus

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
