Role and Responsibilities
Current Technologies has been serving clients with excellence and integrity for 27 years both in Illinois and Florida. This position is based in Lombard Illinois and will involve both client onsite support, management of infrastructure as well as in-house technical responsibilities, service desk technical escalations and presales support.
The Systems & Network Engineer represents Current Technologies and is responsible for supporting infrastructures, implementing and supporting technology solutions utilizing server technologies, virtualization, backup and disaster recovery, and assorted network solutions. The position provides pre-sales support and ongoing support for all existing and future clients. The position works closely with the sales team to assess both existing and potential network environments as well as all with products - services and makes recommendations requiring high-level engineering. The position will manage multiple projects with conflicting time periods and will be expected to make the best decisions on behalf of company Resources. The ideal candidate is a professional, has solid work ethics, high integrity, works well independently in a managed services environment, has a strong desire to continue learning, and provides technical leadership to the team and organization.
Technical Responsibilities include:
- Serve as the lead on complex technical issues, opportunities and projects
- Resolve conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical issues and manage assigned clients
- Advise clients on systems efficiency needs and upgrades as well as any potential weaknesses
- Deliver and support high level solutions using industry leading enterprise technologies including servers, storage solutions, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access systems
- Perform complex troubleshooting and resolution for systems at different enterprise levels, serving as escalation point for issues as necessary
- Document, track and troubleshoot tickets as needed to evaluate and assess technical risks, adherence to standards, and progress according to Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
- Manage support tickets and use team resources to ensure client satisfaction
- Provide training, mentorship, and support professional development of fellow engineers
- Represent Current Technologies professionally to all interested parties including customers, prospects, and outside vendor partners
- Exhibit sensitivity and awareness of the specific needs of clients, business partners, and technical services team members supervised
Sales Support Responsibilities
- Review service offerings and coverages with customers to ensure needs are met
- Provide high-end support for the sales team for complex issues and opportunities
- Create technical standard scopes of work relating to hardware, software and services for proposals
- Coordinate technical services activities during the sales cycle by working closely with sales team to deliver content for proposals

· Professional Level Systems, Backup, Security or Network Certifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer technology or information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience is helpful but not required
- Minimum 5+ years full-time experience working in an IT consulting role or similar technology solutions environment
Must be able to obtain a Perc Card and pass background check.
