Director of Athletic Corporate Sales and Client Services

Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing and executing the advertising, sponsorship, and corporate partnership sales effort on behalf HCU Athletics. Basic functions include the extensive sales, development, and servicing of corporate sponsorship and partnerships while maintaining high levels of client service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as a representative of HCU, a Christian university, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the HCU community and with the public.
- Responsible for prospecting, selling, cultivating and maintaining the sponsorships, advertising and corporate partnerships for HCU Athletics and its facilities in both new and existing business.
- Responsible for soliciting new cash partnerships.
- Responsible for achieving established sales goals and budgets.
- Responsible for making cold calls & budget relieving trade sales presentations for HCU Athletics.
- Responsible for overseeing, coordinating and executing corporate partnership fulfillment.
- Responsible for working with Athletic Department to create and place partners’ signage/elements.
- Responsible for creating season recap summaries for corporate partners.
- Responsible for servicing all corporate sponsorships through various means including direct contact, newsletters, corporate partner gatherings, etc.
- Responsible for creating new client initiatives to better serve the corporate partners.
- Responsible for the design of sales proposals and presentations for potential corporate partners.
- Responsible for creation/implementation of new ideas/opportunities that drive revenue for HCU Athletics.
- Work with the Athletics’ Marketing & Promotions department on opportunities to cross sell corporate partners.
- Responsible for tracking prospective sales and inventory throughout the season.
- Responsible for working and attending events and promotions including occasional nights, weekends and holidays.
- Responsible for cultivating and building a good working relationship with different personnel and departments within HCU and the Athletic Department.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for following all conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
- May assist with athletic fundraising.
Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred. A minimum of two years experience working in athletic sales and marketing either at the professional or collegiate level. Basic computer skills. Must be able to travel as necessary. Must be able to work 40+ hours per week to include some weekend and night time duties as schedule demands.
Other Job-Related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and understanding of the sport of football
- Knowledge of typical computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability deal effectively with people
- Good communication skills
- Must be able to pass the NCAA recruiting test

Physical Demands:
Must be able to effectively communicate with various constituencies in person, via phone, and be email. Some light lifting and outdoor activities may be required.
