Accounts Receivable Coordinator (Transportation)
Summary
IDM Trucking is an employee-owned regional freight carrier. We are currently seeking a full time Accounts Receivable Coordinator for our main office in Weyers Cave, VA. This position will use specialized transportation software to assist in recording and processing drivers’ payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other financial transactions.

Responsibilities
- Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable
- Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
- Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable account
- Monitor and collect accounts receivable (including past due) by contacting customers via telephone and email
- Research and resolve billing and payroll documentation problems and financial discrepancies
- Work with transportation software within our company as well as proprietary customer and vendor software
- Prepare invoices for transportation customers after looking up contracted rates and fuel surcharges, processing accessorial and processing all supporting paperwork for each load
- Provide support for driver payroll
- Provide assistance and support to customers, company personnel and drivers
- Assist in entering invoices in the accounts payable system and in cash disbursements.
- Support other accounting team members and dispatch
- Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting
Requirements
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience in transportation industry (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
