Our Medical Billing Supervisor is a key part of our Finance and Executive Team and will be responsible for the hands-on management and performance of a variety of duties such as health care billing, health care claims adjudication & finance support. Responsibilities
- Oversee the billing operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all billing processes
- Manage a team of billing specialists, providing guidance and support as needed
- Establish and implement standard and customized invoice and claim formats based on contract guidelines
- Monitors, evaluates, and reviews billing procedures as related to regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement billing policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, other managers/supervisors and customer service, to resolve billing issues and ensure timely payment. Track billing adjustment
- Oversees the preparation of weekly invoices for clinical services rendered and processes electronic transmission of these invoices
- Accountable for accounts receivable, collections, cash postings, as well as other miscellaneous billing
- Responsible for billing health care claims to all insurance types, tracking and posting payments, follow-up on overdue accounts and providing end of the month financial information on a timely basis
- Billing all insurances within timely filing guidelines, as well as follow-up on all claim rejections in a timely manner to ensure proper payment
- Follow up activity on all denied or partially paid claims including research and resolution
- Research and resolve all billing problems, including rebilling delinquent accounts when payments received vary from open accounts receivable balance
- Maintaining accurate documentation of claim appeals process
- Manages billing reports to assure that all billing is captured accurately and timely.
- Manages credit and collection activities on past due accounts
- Completes billing performance audits as well as chart audits
- Keeps C.E.O. and G.M apprised of problems/concerns/delays within billing department on a timely basis
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in billing and revenue management
- Assures Claims Integrity for the agency
Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting
- Minimum of one (1) year of home health experience in billing including CMS regulations and HCBS requirements or billing management or three (3) years’ experience in accounting or medical billing with at least two (2) years supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of billing principles, procedures, and systems
- Demonstrates the ability to accurately manage detailed information
- Proficient in using billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Understands basic medical terminology.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal teams and external clients
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Works well under pressure
