Summary:
The Behavior Specialist is a salaried position at Penn Residential that will be assigned to select residential sites to provide intensive behavioral supports and consultation to individuals, family members, and other stakeholders. The Behavior Specialist is responsible for guiding treatment by developing a behavior support plan, monitoring progress on goals, intervening directly with an individual, and developing programs, as appropriate. The goal of this position is to identify, assess, and provide for the clinical needs of the program. The Behavior Specialist may serve in on-call rotations and/or receive crisis management referral calls. This position will also receive mileage reimbursement and a phone/on-call stipend.

Role and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducts comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBAs).
- Designs, develops, collaborates, implements, and monitors individualized behavior support plans.
- Experience conducting assessments.
- Assists in teaching, training, modeling, and coaching for staff appropriate general behavior support techniques, proactive strategies, positive behavior supports, and behavior support during crisis situations according to each individual’s behavior plan and data collection.
- Trains residential and supervisory staff regarding pertinent behavior intervention plans.
- Evaluate data and recommend instructional changes accordingly.
- Complete progress reports describing services and assessments applied during treatment
- Ensure behavior support services are directed towards meaningful outcomes for the individual served.
- Consults with all members of the individual’s team to ensure plan participation and intervention integrity.
- Monitors electronic and observational data to address individual needs.
- Supervises response to emergency/crisis situations with team members and supported individuals.
- Participates in required meetings, evaluations, supervision, and trainings.
- Completes all required clinical documentation.
- Maintains assigned, planned schedule.
- Maintains a commitment to professional development.
- Adheres to professional and ethical interaction policies and procedures.
- Supports on-going and future business needs.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, education, social work, counseling, or closely related field.
- Licensed candidates preferred, but not required: Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS), Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- Minimum 2 years of experience directly supporting individuals with an Intellectual Disability and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder and other comorbid diagnoses.
- Minimum 2 years of conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (Practical/Standard functional analyses and variants) including data analysis.
- Supervisory experience preferred but not required.
- Must be flexible with strong communication skills and the ability to work within a variety of environments (residential and community settings).
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
