Our body shop is seeking an Estimator to join our team. This position is responsible for managing and scheduling body repair services for customers, and must have an extensive knowledge of automobiles, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. The right candidate will have experience in auto repair and will be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Write collision estimates in an appealing format.
- Know the costs associated with repairs by looking at competitors' prices.
- Build a relationship with vehicle owners, repairers, and insurance personnel to negotiate costs and close customer sales.
- Inspect, analyze and evaluate damaged vehicles to create a comprehensive and accurate damage report. Assess lot damage and tend to VIP customers by following Standard Operating Procedures.
- Educate customers on the process of getting a vehicle repaired, including insurance procedures, motorist’s bill of rights, repair techniques, safety, value, and other relevant information such as: extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage.
- Oversee compliance with all insurance client requirements, processes and metrics when writing accurate estimates/supplements, including part selection, photo documentation and upload requirements in accordance to the Automotive Repair Act and related laws and regulations
- Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fender, and doors.
- Evaluates practicality of repair as opposed to payment of vehicle market value before accident.
- Manage up to 50 files a month from A-Z, including following up on open receivables.
- Provide guidance to Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) assigned to their team for the purpose of managing customers and providing them with regular updates.
Qualifications:
- Proficient with handling a vehicle’s repair production from start to finish
- Proficient written and oral communication skills
- 2+ Years experience and proficient with CCC One software or similar
- Familiarity with various auto insurances
- Organized and friendly personality
- Strong time management skills
- Professional, well-groomed personal appearance
- Team oriented and self-motivated
- Able to work with little supervision
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
