POSITION OVERVIEW – Logistics Specialist I
Chevron’s Gulf of Mexico Business Unit (GOMBU) supports Production Operations, Sub-Sea Intervention, offshore major capital project (MCP) opportunities and exploration and appraisal (E&A) drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. The capital cost of these projects ranges from $500MM to over $7 billion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Main function is to perform transactions in Chevron’s ERP, SAP, to ensure properly accounted for material movements from various third-party storage facilities and to keep financial records complete.
- Review, record, and enter shipping, receiving, and transfer data to properly account for material and financial records, using SAP MM MIGO transaction.
- Required to appropriately, accurately, and timely enter accounting, cost, and inventory management attributes associated with material movements, fabrications, audits, and divestments into SAP.
- Receive, create, execute, and post all Transfer of Ownership Form requests from suppliers or vendors in system of record or work with accounting to execute associated Journal Entries.
- Request required documentation from the 3rd Party yards with regards to preparing & furnishing required documentation.
- Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist Well Coordinator with Audit Exceptions with regards to 3rd Party yards.
- Coordinate annual physical inventory at 3rd Party storage locations per SOX audit guidelines. Identify variances in count, traceability, or quality and make needed adjustments in system of record per the SOX audit guidelines.
- Responsible for keeping all required records to document compliance with the SOX control.
- Execute periodic and ad-hoc inventory spot checks to address critical equipment and material needs.
- Address issues regarding outstanding material movements, timely delivery of needed material movement documentation, accuracy of documentation, inventory variance, and invoice processing.
- Support Investment Recovery Coordinators with investment recovery related activities and processes. Responsible for issuing out materials once sales are completed both in Chevron system of record as well as the 3rd Party yard. Reviews and approves 3rd Party yard invoices with regards to verification of work done
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
- Ability to work independently and manage time
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months to 3 + year’s experience in SAP Materials Management or Finance.
