Morristown Driver’s Service has an immediate opening for a Night Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative position. This position is responsible for directing and coordinating all transportation operations covering multiple driver fleets during the overnight shift. Duties include routing and tracking of transportation vehicles. The Night Dispatcher works with the driver to ensure pick up and deliveries are made in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Records and allocates all requests for delivery and pickup among the available drivers.
- Selects vehicle route for efficient movement and prepares pickup and delivery schedules.
- Records all information for proper billing.
- Calls in extra drivers when needed to handle unexpected volume.
- Maintains satellite and phone contact with trucks, receives, and dispatches aid in response to any emergency needs for assistance or repairs.
- Handles customer service issues related to delivery and pickup.
- Maintain accuracy of transportation tracking tools based on assigned mode and geography.
- Maintain and publish transportation schedule to reflect changes due to any circumstance.
- Driver performance tracking and KPI’s
- Maintain good working relationships with Drivers and Customers
Schedule:
Wednesday – Friday 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m..; Sunday - Tuesday - 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
Every other Saturday 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma/GED
- Transportation and dispatch experience; 2-5 years a plus
- Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, TMW and Samsara software is a plus.
