PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To install roof decking and drill for plumbing and other openings
JOB DUTIES:
Read manifest for type and load of roof.
Load decking onto house and secure to joists and side rail according to specs
Measure, mark and cut out for vents, furnaces and plumbing
Rout edges of decking all around house Sign traveler when job has been completed
Install deck dry as required Install shingle underlayment as required
Install drip edge as required Construct dormers when they are required
Maintain acceptable level of quality Clean area daily
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Must be at least 18 years old
SAFETY / ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Uncontrolled climate Insulation, sawdust, and water base glue may be inhaled
EQUIPMENT / MACHINES USED:
Hoist Skill Saw Router Nail and Staple Guns
General hand tools Personal Protective Equipment
TEST REQUIRED:
Drug Screen Hearing Test
COGNITIVE SKILLS:
Good reasoning skills Be able to read blue prints and tape measure
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
No sitting except breaks and lunch
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
Must have normal use of hands
Must be able to climb on and off of house roof constantly
Be able to work bent over 50% of the time.
