Sync Diagnostics has positions available for both full-time and PRN Radiology Technologist for an independent diagnostic facility in Panama City Beach, Florida. Work less than a mile from the beach, with its world-famous white sand beaches in an income tax-free state, this fast-growing stretch of the Emerald Coast features a beautiful, family-friendly coastline with high-end attractions along Scenic Highway 30A.
Role & Responsibilities
Performance of all approved Radiology procedures in assigned areas of licensure. The Radiology Tech is responsible for taking quality radiologic images and to provide physicians aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. Also expected is the completion of the routine workload in all areas according to established radiology policies and procedures, the exact nature of the work may vary depending upon the workload and the assigned duties. Position requires the exercise of independent judgment under autonomous conditions with in person and telephonic assistance from the acting manager or Consulting Radiologist if needed. Work customarily involves any testing which may require a high degree theoretical knowledge and technical expertise in licensed area(s).
- Prepare and position patients for imaging and selects exposure factors accurately.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Observe patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity.
- Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Prevent patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
- Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
- Ensure equipment is properly functioning.
- Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
- Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Forwarding test results to physicians
- Keeping accurate records of test results
- Explaining test procedures to patients
- Maintenance of all radiology machines & equipment
- Professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical, or employment status of patients and their families.
- Must follow accepted safety practices for patients and providers.
- Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.
- Must participate in safety instructional programs.
Qualifications
Candidate must meet all appropriate experience requirements as outlined for Florida HRS licensure as a Radiology Technologist (ARRT) and a medical diploma, or certification.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Required: BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Plus:
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Florida Radiologic Technology
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
