Position: Senior Estimator (Heavy Highway Construction)

Job Description:
The Estimator is responsible for deciding the projected timeframe needed to complete a project and additional factors like labor needs, materials, budgets, and potential setbacks. The estimator will communicate with professionals or vendors, using computer software to weigh production risks or compile reports and make presentations to project leaders outlining their suggestions for upcoming projects.
Project Pursuit:
- Road and Bridge Projects
- Underground Utilities
- Wastewater / Water Treatment Plants
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders and collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
- Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
- Prepare detailed estimates for our projects, including labor, materials and equipment costs.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors.
- Managing bids from vendors and contractors.
- Using bid data to prepare a detailed cost analysis.
- Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders.
- Compiling and recording actual costs.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
- Experience with BlueBeam, P6, Microsoft Office (Specifically Excel), HCSS, and Plan Swift
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Report writing and strategic planning skills
- Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects
- Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional time management skills
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 7 plus years of experience in the heavy highway construction industry.
- Ability to understand the market, competitive landscape and ability to build relationships with clients and vendors
- Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
- Travel when required
- Must have a valid driver's license.
