Job Summary
Oversees daily production operations, coach and develop employees, identify and implement process optimization projects. Provide the leadership that ensures all employees on shift can improve and sustain a zero-loss work culture that drives out injuries and ensures products are safe and meet quality specifications. Manage all aspects of shift plant operations ensuring , output, and continuous improvement by engaging all employees
Duties and Responsibilities
· Review daily production schedules and understand work requirements
· Assist management in ensuring plant productivity, quality, and safety standards are met
· Ensure all plant employees are responsible and accountable to maintain GMP and site standards which include FDA, USDA, and MDA standards
· Ensure product quality and food safety by ensuring plant employees sustain quality systems. (HAACP, SQF, SOP, GMP’s)
· Perform inventory checks and sampling
· Coordinate with shipping
· Provide performance coaching to and development of employees
· Ensure Troubleshooting capabilities are developed with all operators and maintenance personal
· Ensure Adherence to production schedule
· Demonstrate professionalism in verbal and written communication and in behavior.
· Perform employee processes and provide feedback periodically on performance, including disciplinary and attendance occurrences.
· Provide performance coaching to and development of hourly employees
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Knowledge and Experience with food production equipment
· Experience in food and/or consumer product environment
· Advanced knowledge of GMP, HACCP, SOP, SQF
· Ability to facilitate team work
· Ability to manage and develop team members
Decision Making/ Problem Solving
· Supervise/adjust plant operations to ensure the most effective use of personal, materials, equipment and other company resources
· Develop, coordinate and implement activities, processes and standards to maintain and improve safety, quality, delivery and cost
· Monitor and correct employee’s action or behaviors to ensure adherence with required company policies, procedures, systems and rules
Qualifications
· Knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, OSHA, SQF
· Prior experience in cheese or dairy industry minimum of 3 years.
· High school Diploma or GED required
· Able to read and comprehend standard operating procedures
· Participation in a team environment
· Detail oriented and quality minded
· Able to perform at a high level and fast paced environment
· Able to lift 80 lbs. frequently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
