The Senior Manager of Inventory Field Process Optimization manages the inventory count processes, at Lowe's retail stores and supply facilities, to validate the accuracy of inventory for financial reporting and compliance purposes. This role has direct responsibility of managing the Supply Chain inventory count processes and related innovation due to technological enhancements, network expansion and operational changes. Also, this role manages the relationship with the Outside Inventory Service (OIS), for Lowe's US Home Improvement (USHI) and Allied Businesses, by guiding the OIS service provider in the development of new programs and technology to support first count accuracy through enhancements in counting and auditing data. Another key responsibility for this role is process optimization, managing technological enhancements and other modernization initiatives across both retail stores and the supply chain facilities. Process optimization will include collaborating cross-functionally to drive alignment and implementation of new programs, updating policy and procedures (SOPs), establishing monitoring controls and change management including training for Inventory Field Services and internal/external stakeholders.
What You Will Do
Directly manages, and partners with Supply Chain and Asset Protection, to facilitate inventory counts across all nodes and updates approach/processes due to changes in systems, operational processes, and network expansion.
Builds relationships and collaborates with cross-functional teams, as well as service providers, to drive innovation and processes enhancements as part of the store inventory technology modernization and other initiatives including process automation and simplification.
Utilizes innovative and critical thinking, as well as a fundamental knowledge of inventory count compliance and control requirements, to develop solutions and optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of store and distribution count processes.
Leads the team in navigating through change, updates policies and procedures (SOPs) and provides training for the Inventory Field Services team, as well as internal/external stakeholders to ensure adoption of new or updated processes.
Assists with establishing and/or maintaining a data driven approach to managing the OIS, including the budget and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive accountability for performance and inventory count accuracy, as well as managing OIS costs and assessing penalties when necessary.
Assists with establishing and/or maintaining monitoring effectiveness and efficiency of the IFS count and audit processes within the retail stores and supply chain facilities.
Assists with building automation into existing Inventory Field Services team management processes and other continuous improvement projects.
Utilizes project management skills to establish and meet project timelines.
Maintains SOX narratives, performs quarterly SOX testing and reporting for the physical inventory process in both retail and distribution environments to ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
Monitors and guides the creation of the inventory schedule ensuring proper intervals and number of inventories per year to remain in compliance with financial report standards and SOX standards.
Guides the scheduling of OIS offices with inventory events to manage/reduce additional travel expense.
Assists and supports the creation of budgets and travel itineraries for field employees to manage/reduce travel expenses. Monitors and ensures policy compliance and consistency with cost guidelines.
Assists with the recruiting and training of new Regional Physical Inventory Managers and Area Physical Inventory Senior Specialists.
Assists with drafting and reviewing sales agreements and contracts, directs the work of 3rd parties, works with legal team to ensure that contingencies and deliverables are addressed and met by 3rd parties.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Business, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree)
8-10 Years Inventory processes, project management and/or process and control optimization.
Experience managing teams/people and cross-functional projects
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in inventory processes, vendor management and/or focus on technological enhancements and change management
At least 3 years of experience of direct and/or indirect people management
Experience in data analysis and process automation including advance knowledge of Excel, Power BI and/or Alteryx
