Supervisor: Executive Chef
Pay Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Part-Time
Position Summary: Primarily responsible for operating and maintaining cleaning equipment and tools. Also responsible for washing dishes, China, flatware, cutlery, crockery, kitchen vessels, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning, and detailing equipment. Maintains the kitchen, dishwashing, and back area in an inspection-ready condition in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Schedule is dependent on volume of business and production needs. Candidates must be available to work a mixture of days, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Essential Functions
- Set up, operate, and shut down all dishwashing equipment and areas according to standard operating procedures.
- Lead the cleaning of work areas, equipment, and service locations.
- Lead the washing of China, glassware, flatware, and other equipment related to assigned events.
- Ensure all food and beverage items used for events are cleaned, sanitized, and returned to proper storage areas.
- Adhere to all sanitation guidelines.
- Collect and remove trash and recycling from all kitchen areas following established procedures.
- Clean and maintain floors and walls in kitchen, coolers, and dishwashing area.
- Check all cleaning chemical levels daily and maintain stock of supplies (e.g., detergents).
- Report any maintenance or hazard issues to the Executive Chef /Sous Chef or Culinary Arts & Events Operations Managers.
- Remove broken or chipped items from circulation and update the breakage and inventory register.
- Work well without supervision and be punctual, reliable, and maintain a sense of urgency.
- Maintain quality communication skills and organization.
- Contribute to a positive team environment.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Education and / or Qualifications preferred:
- Experience: Previous experience in a fast-paced, commercial kitchen environment.
- Skill/Knowledge/Licenses: Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed. Attention to detail and strong sense of urgency. Must be 18 years of age or older.

Working Conditions: Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift. Ability to observe details at close range and communicate information accurately with others. Occasionally move objects with or without accommodations and must move around to access resources. Ability to move up to 10 pounds regularly, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally move 100+ pounds (i.e., load, unload, and move supplies, medium to heavy weight tools, and equipment). Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. Fast-paced commercial kitchen environment, requires physical work including bending, walking, and standing for long periods of time. Handles hot and sharp items.
