Center for Human Services (CHS) is seeking dynamic and caring people to join our Youth Services team as Student Assistance Specialists serving students at Stanislaus and San Joaquin County schools. We have both fulltime and parttime opportunities which will start with the new school year on July 29, 2024. This position follows a traditional 10-month school year calendar, may include evenings and occasional weekends.

Position Summary: Responsible for providing short-term education, prevention and intervention services to students K-12 to build life, social and coping skills. The goal of the Student Assistance Program is to provide students the support they need and an opportunity to learn life skills, so they may achieve greater success in school and in life.
Duties:

Provides individual and group activities to identified participants.

Schedules and presents educational workshops independently and/or with co-facilitator.

Provides conflict mediation with identified participants.

Responsible for collecting and completing statistical information, case files, program forms and providing appropriate documentation per program requirements and agency needs.

Responsible for completing contract hours as assigned.

Develop and maintain close working relationship as a liaison with assigned schools, agencies, participating business and organizations.

Consults with school staff, probation; and community-based agencies to make appropriate referrals to community agencies.

Responsible for implementation of projects as assigned by Supervisor.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
B.A./B.S. in Social Services or related fields.
-
Experience and ability to work effectively with youth, adults and community members.

Demonstrate written and oral communication skills.
-
Pass agency paid criminal justice screening including fingerprints.
- Pass agency paid health screening and/or drug testing (if required).

Valid California driver's license.
- Current proof of auto insurance coverage.
