Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; either 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Job Summary
The Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for order picking and packing in a sometimes fast-paced environment. Performs any combination of the following tasks: to receive, store and distribute product within our facility. Read shipping order, driver's load sheet to determine item to be moved or gathered. Conveys materials and product from receiving to storage or to other designated area by hand, hand-truck or electric forklift. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves based on different packaging or product code identifiers. Marks product with identifying information. Record number of materials or items received or distributed. Fills orders or requests for merchandise from stock and places orders on pallets, in shipping boxes, or in an appropriate vehicle. May maintain inventory records.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy of picking process to properly maintain inventory.
- Coordinate with shift team to ensure all shipments leave on-time
- Properly and safely unload/load incoming/outbound trucks. Initiate all necessary paperwork relating to shipments.
- Assist in maintaining a clean warehouse to include cleaning up spills, sweeping and mopping as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized and secure work area.
- Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all food products.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 6 months of warehouse/distribution experience
- Previous experience operating material handling equipment
- Forklift experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to safely lift, stack and handle up to 50-pound packages
- Must be able to climb ladders/stairs
- This is strenuous work requiring standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, pivot twisting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling and balancing.
